Due to all of the changes this year, the Giving Tree will be simplified and focused to meet the community's needs and keep everyone as safe as possible. If you would like to be part of an effort to provide clothes for children in community families and also help provide resources to keep families in their homes through the work of Faith Emergency Services, please consider making a monetary donation for this purpose.
One shopper from our church will be purchasing all of the clothing items requested by the families, keeping the congregation as safe as possible during this time as COVID-19 rates spike while still serving a community very much in need.
Faith Emergency Services has experienced a reduction in funds and an increase in requests. This Christmas, for many families, simply staying in their home is a blessing. A portion of the Giving Tree donations will be directed to Faith Emergency Services to continue this important work.
In lieu of bagging food/supplies as in years past, please continue to support the Community Cupboard with food donations and cleaning supplies, especially as MUMC sponsors the Community Cupboard in the month of December.
If you would like to be a blessing for others this Christmas by participating in the Giving Tree please donate by
Dec. 13. Checks can be made payable to Mason UMC. Please mail, drop off to the church during office hours or in offering plate on Sunday. Please write "Giving Tree" in memo line. You may also look for a link to donate online coming up later this week.
Gifts will be picked up by families on Sat. Dec. 19. If you are interested in loading the vehicles outdoors "drive-through" style, please contact Kristen Smithat firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your continued participation in MUMC's Christmas ministry.
