Mason UMC Parent's Day Out
Parent’s Day Out is a ministry of Mason United Methodist Church and has been established to be a support system for parents in the church and the community.
The mission of Parent’s Day Out is to provide a safe, fun and nurturing Christian environment for the children of the church and community on a weekly basis,
while the parents enjoy some free time.Parent’s Day Out is not a preschool
and focuses on socialization and nurturing, not academics. for one day a week, Wednesdays.
Ages: Children 6 months to 5 years of age
Registration begins in the early Spring for the following school year for current enrollees and then opens up to the waiting list and the public. Any openings during the school year are filled according to the waiting list. Members of Mason United Methodist Church have priority in acceptance to the program. Children are placed in classrooms according their birth date. No exceptions are made to this policy. There are 2 caregivers in each room.
Tours are usually given weekdays between 10:00am and Noon. Please call or email to schedule your time to visit Parent’s Day Out.
Parent’s Day Out operates September through May on Wednesday from 9:30 am-12:30 pm. Early in September there will be an open house orientation where children enrolled meet their caregivers and see their classrooms.
Parent’s Day Out follows the Mason City School Calendar and will be closed on any calamity days or two hour delay. If a one hour delay happens we will open an hour later too.
Each week has a theme and classrooms have a time for free play, guided play, snacks, crafts, lunch and exercise.
Arrival and Pickup:
Children are dropped off in their classrooms at 9:30a.m. and are picked up at 12:30 p.m. For the safety of the children, a written note is needed if someone other than a parent will be picking up the children. Identification may also be required for pick-up.
Registration fees are $50.00 per child, $75 per family and are non-refundable.

Monthly fees are $70.00 ($60.00 each additional child). Monthly fees are due September through May on the 1st of the month (September dues are to be paid the first week of classes). A $10.00 late fee must be added if fees are paid after the 15th of the month.
Students are assigned to the classrooms according to their birth date.
A 30-day written notice is required when leaving the program for any reason in order to avoid paying the next month’s fees. For example: to avoid paying January fees, you must withdraw from Parent’s Day Out by Dec. 1st.
