AUDIO VISUAL MEDIA

Sound Board, Lighting and Video Operators:

If you love live music, theater, or movies, and have 

an interest in sound, lighting, or video production, 

then this is the opportunity for you! 

 

The Audio/Visual team members work together 

to produce the worship services each week. 

Sound Operators control the live and recorded 

audio. Lighting Operators control the stage 

and house lighting scenes, and Video Operators r

ecord the services for the website each week and 

for various special events throughout the year 

(Christmas Pageant, etc.). Training is provided. 

Come join the A/V team and have fun serving!

 

Slide Runners:

Computer Operators are needed. You simply need 

to follow the flow of worship and push a button 

or click using the mouse. Training is provided.

CHILDREN

Children's Ministry Office Help:

Volunteer needed to help prep Sunday Morning 

materials.  Copying, cutting and gathering materials.  

Approx. two hours a week.  

 

Sunday Mornings:

Small Group leaders (Sunday school teachers) – 

Sit with your group during Large Group. Take them

 to their small group room and lead them through 

the activities from the curriculum to dive deeper 

into the weekly lesson. You will be helping the 

children to grow in their faith.  

 

Event Help:

Need volunteers to help with food prep, setup, 

serving, decorating and breakdown.

VBS Volunteers Opportunities:

Station Leaders - (Bible Adventure, Games, and 

Imagination Station, Photographer and snack station).  

-Kids come to you in groups of approx. 30 kids and 

depending on your station depends on what you 

will do with the kids.  For example the Games 

station leader will lead the games that are 

specified for that day provided in the Leaders 

Guide and make the connection between the 

games and the message of the day.

                        

Crew Leaders and Assistant Crew Leaders:  

Check in and  out the children, help the children 

get from one station to the other, make sure they 

are understanding what they are learning from 

one station to the other and making sure they 

are safe and having fun!

                        

Registration Support: 

Help check in children, collect paperwork and 

assign new attendees into crews to maintain 

event crews.

                        

Decorators:  

Help create and make large stage and/or make 

smaller items at home

WORSHIP

Ushers:

Ushers welcome guests into worship, pass out 

bulletins, and collect offering. They are needed 

at all Sunday services.

Altar Guild/Worship Environment:

We work with the Pastor to affect a worshipful 

environment. We change altar paraments for 

seasons, etc.

YOUTH

Bus Transportation Drivers:

The Youth Ministry needs a bus driver or van drivers 

to transport our youth to special events or Cross the 

Street opportunities.

 

Speakers:

Looking for adults who have a gift for speaking and 

have a message or talent to share with our youth.

 

Chaperones: 

Love working with kids? We can always use a helping 

hand to venture with us on Mission trips and other 

Youth Events. Consider coming along.

CARE

Funeral Meals & Preparation:

Volunteer to be on a call list to provide food and/or 

help prepare funeral meals for friends and family 

of Mason UMC. When there is is a need, you will 

receive a call to see if you are able to provide a 

donation and/or help.

 

Transportation:

Provide local transportation for those who are unable 

to drive on their own. Church on Sunday mornings, 

doctor appointments, etc.

Meals & Special Services:

As situations arise in one's life, meals are needed for 

nourishment for living and healing. Whatever the 

situation, we can be there to ease that need. 

Meals are scheduled as requested, sometimes short 

term for a week, sometimes longer.

Visitation to Homebound:

Spending some time with a member of the 

congregation who is homebound. 

 

Hospital Visits:

Visit and pray with those in local hospitals. 

 

Prayer Shawl:

Knit or crochet lap robes or shawls that will be 

blessed and distributed to those who need a 

reminder of God's love. Meet at church with a 

group, or knit/crochet at home.

WELCOME

MUSIC

CONTEMPORARY MINISTRIES

PRAISE TEAM:

If you enjoy Contemporary Christian Music, and 

have experience and skill playing an instrument, 

the Praise Band leads worship every Sunday at the 

10 am service. Practice is every Thursday evening 

in the Sanctuary at 7:00 pm.

 

PRAISE CHOIR

If you enjoy Contemporary Christian Music and enjoy 

singing, the Praise Choir joins the Praise Team to 

lead worship every Sunday at the 10 am service. 

Practice is every Thursday evening in the Sanctuary 

at 7:00 pm.

TRADITIONAL MINISTRIES

CHANCEL CHOIR:

The choir is a regular part of the 10 am services on 

Sunday mornings at Mason UMC. Rehearsals on 

Wednesday evenings from 7:30 - 9 pm.

 

JUBILATION RINGERS:

This group plays regularly at our worship services and 

performs throughout the community. Rehearsals are 

on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm in the Choir 

Room, September-May. Substitute Ringers always 

needed.

 

INSTRUNMENTIAL & VOCAL SOLOISTS

The 8:30 am Traditional services frequently have 

opportunities for soloists.

MISSIONS

HER TIME:

Her Time is a ministry that collects personal hygiene 

items for homeless women.  The packets of hygiene 

items are donated to Iron Samaritans who distribute 

directly to homeless women in Cincinnati and 

Clermont Co.  Donations can be placed in the grey 

bin marked Women to Women across from the 

Multi Ministry Room.

QUEEN CITY KITCHEN:

This is a fantastic fellowship opportunity for individuals 

or groups to share in the joy of serving others. Prepare 

and serve 200 meals to guests of the Queen City

Kitchen in downtown Cincinnati.  Meals are served 

on scheduled Saturdays. Please consider making 

room in your calendar for this mission experience.

CHRIST'S CUPBOARD:

This ministry provides families a food resource for 

times when they are in need. The congregation is 

asked to bring specific food donation needs to 

replenish the inventory; shop for food, or pack 

food boxes.

FAITH EMERGENCY SERVICES:

FAITH Emergency Services is a partnership of 7 

churches in Mason/Warren County area designed to 

relieve the needs of the poor in our community. 

Faith Emergency Services helps families in the 

following ways: avoiding eviction and utility shut-off, 

Rx, Food Cards, and student clothing. Volunteer 

to serve at Mason UMC on Thursdays from 1-3 pm. 

The Ohio Benefit Bank is also available at this

GIVING TREE:

During the Christmas season, Christmas trees with 

tags identifying gift requests for local children are 

displayed. The congregation is asked to choose tags, 

buy and wrap presents. Also requested are bags of 

household items. The congregation is also asked to 

participate during the delivery of these gifts.

GREETERS:

If you are looking for a place to serve in the church 

that is VITAL but NOT labor intensive, then being a 

GREETER is the right spot for you!! The shifts are 

only 15 minutes long and all you need is a smile 

and a friendly handshake!! This ministry is vitally 

important to us being a truly welcoming church!

SUNDAY MORNING WELCOME DESK:

Opportunities are always available to help out at 

the Welcome Desk on Sunday mornings. You would 

help greet people, answer questions, and hand out 

Welcome Boxes to first time guests.

SUNDAY MORNING COFFEE SERVICE:

We are always in need of volunteers to help with 

the Sunday morning coffee. Volunteers help 

prepare and clean-up.

ARISE & SHINE: 

Hosts are always needed for this fellowship time 

that takes place on Sunday mornings from 

9:45 am to 11:15 am. It's a welcoming area where 

people can meet, reconnect, and/or share 

information on upcoming events inside and outside 

our church building. Only light treats and snacks 

for the table are needed. Any person, family, or 

group can sponsor Arise & Shine.

ADMINISTRATION & FACILITIES

THE FACILITY TEAM::

The Facility Team is responsible for the upkeep, 

repair and maintenance of the church and the 

parsonages. If you are handy with a hammer, 

a paint brush, landscaping, light home repair 

projects, you can volunteer on a project to 

project basis.

WELCOME DESK - WEEKDAY:

We need people with a welcoming personality to 

serve at the Welcome Desk during the weekly 

office hours. You will greet people as they enter 

the building, provide them with information, 

answer the phones and occasionally you may be 

asked to help with mailings, office project, etc.
